About this site
How this portfolio is built, where its facts come from, and what it does with your data.
Who writes it
Everything here is written by me, Ali Raza. I build and maintain the site with AI coding assistants, mainly Cursor. I review each change before it goes live, and every claim about my work is mine to stand behind.
How I write about my work
- Numbers come from a source I can point to: my CV, a project repository, an evaluation report, or the product itself. The Sources page lists them.
- Built, in progress, and planned are labeled differently. irha.ai, for example, is described as early access, not as a finished product.
- Team work says what my part was. Each case study has a “My role” section.
- Client and customer data stays private. The Blue Ocean Window Cleaning tools are private repositories, so I publish engineering notes about them instead.
- Mistakes get fixed in the open. If you spot one, tell me and the fix will show up in the changelog below.
How it’s built
- Hand-written HTML, CSS, and a small amount of JavaScript. No framework.
- Hosted on Cloudflare Pages at alirazaai.page. The old address, alirazaportfolio2026.netlify.app, redirects here. The source code is public on GitHub.
- Field notes are my engineering write-ups. They were first published on GitHub Pages, and those copies now point here.
- Skip links, a keyboard-friendly menu, readable color contrast, and reduced animation when your device asks for it.
The “Ask my AI” assistant
The button in the corner opens an AI assistant. It is not me. It answers only from the pages listed on the Sources page and my CV, puts a numbered link after each fact, and says so when this site doesn’t cover something. It runs on free AI models through OpenRouter, so it can be slow, busy, or wrong. Check the linked source before relying on an answer. The code is open source on GitHub.
On the homepage, the same assistant appears as an illustrated avatar called Ali’s AI, drawn from my cartoon likeness. You can type or use the microphone, and it can read answers aloud with your browser’s built-in voice. The studio has settings to pause motion, turn off spoken answers, switch to a simple view, or hide the avatar.
Your data
- No analytics or advertising trackers.
- The contact form sends your name, email, and message to my inbox through Web3Forms. I use them only to reply.
- “Book a call” opens Calendly, which has its own privacy policy.
- Questions you ask the assistant go to a small server on Vercel and then to an AI model provider through OpenRouter. Free model providers may log or use prompts, so please don’t share private information there. I don’t store conversations; your browser keeps the current chat only until you close the tab.
- The homepage microphone uses your browser’s speech recognition. In some browsers, such as Chrome, your voice is sent to the browser maker’s servers to be transcribed. Spoken answers use the voices installed in your browser or device. Your studio settings are saved only in your browser.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts. Cloudflare, the host, keeps standard server logs, and Netlify does the same for visits to the old address before redirecting them.
